VISTA GAMING

i received my copy of vista business today. i am looking to install it tonight hopefully.

i mainly play dod and have the following spec pc:

e6600
bfg8800gtx
xfi music
aus P5B deluxe mobo

am i likely to come across any issues???

There are some teething issues with older stuff - a lot of BF1942 mods don't work for one reason or another under vista, Kuma games crash to desktop for me, FarCry has nasty clash with vista drivers that makes walls transparent when HDR is on, some Lucas Arts games can't play with sound enabled because their software audio emulation just doesn't work under Vista, I had to run STALKER with some shader modifications or it would run like dog on 7900GTS with all shadows and fake hdr stuff in game. It's not glass half empty but if you have large collection of games you will find vista means farewell to quite a few titles...

coro 2 duo e6300 overclocked to 3.5
2gb or ram sli
gigabyte ds3 p
nivida 8800 GTS
XFI faitaly pro
g15 and g5

yep 1 person with nearly the same setup don't get ctd's in titan mode under vista it normal comes up with memory error.dll had my 2gb usb flash plugged in as well

E6600 @2.8 at the mo.
2Gb RAM
Asus P5n32 E SLI
BFG 8800GTX OC
X-FI Fatality Pro GAMER ( Just drivers installed)
G15 and MX700

no crashes in BF 2 or 2142 inc. Titan mode
Have not installed any memory patch as per your post in windows forum.

i have not tryed that patch yet but running it normal it just ctd's with memory error.dll when the next map is going to load. if i *** get this sorted id problay use vista a lot more as i do like the os
 
I have been using vista on my laptop and desktop for ages (since RC1) and all through the versions I have had XP installed on a seperate HDD that I use for games
