Hello!

Could someone help me undo this please. I tried to save some work to my C:\ drive but it is set to read only and was saying "access denied". So I picked one folder at random, the "users" one and unticked read-only" and it went through all the files. I then checked the folder again, and it was set once more! Where is it getting this from?

It looks like everything is, program files, program files x86, etc, etc.

Thanks for any help!

I've seen similar weirdness. Like getting "Access denied" when settings are propagating from a top level directory to subdirectories.

Might have something to do with the fact that an Administrator account is not really an Administrator account, while UAC is on. :p

Possible solutions? :

1. Turn UAC off, perform actions, turn UAC back on?

2. Launch an Administrator Windows Explorer, perform actions? ( Tricky one )

3. Open an Administrator Command Prompt and use equivalent commands. ?

Hi peeps.

Well I turned off UAC and that seems to have helped, kind of. Some folders are still saying read-only and all the files in side are read-only but I've just tried to save some photo's in to my "pictures" folder on the C:\ drive and it has let me!

So I'll see how I get on with UAC off. Very strange indeed.

Thanks for the help!
