Hello all.
Dual boot on my system - XP Pro, and Vista Ult 64. Got to thinking that I don't use Vista very much, so decided to install an old copy of Flight Sim 2004.
Some may be familiar with the ins and outs of configuring FS2004, some may not, but its largely irrelevant to my problem I think.
Basically I have put a .dll module from FS2002, into the FS2004 installation. To avoid FS disabling it on loading you add a line to the games cfg file. Under XP this solves the problem straight away, but sadly it ain't solving it under Vista. Its not an incompatibility issue, as others aren't suffering the problem, but nobody seems able to offer me a solution.
Concensus seems to be that I don't have owner rights or whatever. Also its been said that the cfg file should NOT be read only. Mine is, but despite setting myself as having permission to edit the file and folders, whenever I uncheck the read only box, and close it, its back to read only as soon as I open it again.
I am almost sure I have set myself as being able to edit all files and folders, but maybe I haven't. How can I ensure I have these privileges?
Any help most appreciated.
Al.
