Vista Hard DisK Problems

Any idea why my hard drives won't stop accessing , as im typing this its grinding constantly havent experienced anything like this with Xp .Thanks

vista shows the indexing complete, can't see away to turn it off & my hard is gonna pack up any minuite

just unplug your hard drive.

ok found how to disable indexing

To turn off indexing, go to computer, right click your C drive, left click
properties. At the bottom of the properties box you will see a box to enable
or disable indexing on the drive. Remove the check mark and apply to all
files and sub folders. If you get errors on some files click the ignore
button. It does take a few minutes to turn off.
