Vista help please guys

Hello ive just recieved my Vista Ultimate 64-Bit Edition DVD today from Overclockers , ive run the Vista Upgrade advisor and that says everything is fine but as soon as i put the disc in i get the message

setup cannott run on this version of the operating system,to install windows please try booting from the install media .

any ideas or help greatly appreciatted

You have to run the install by booting from the DVD, not installing while you are running another version of windows.

Yes, just boot with it in. It should say 'press any key to boot from DVD' or something.

Sorry I know how i sound its just that im sort of reasuring myself as im scared ill muck everything up .

Have you backed up everything you need to save from your PC?

Yes if you aren't sure what you are doing, pause a moment and think, and make sure you aren't going to wipe out any important data.

Yes all in my external drive

Good as the vista install will erase anything thats in your current windows installation.

Yep you can't upgarde a 32 bit os to 64.
Back everything up and reboot with the disk in.
