Vista Home Admin

Hi, need a little help with vista home premium.

2 people I know have just bought laptops with it pre-installed, they cant install some programs as it says they dont have administration rights. They only have one login, have they done something wrong when they set vista up? Is there any way I can gain admin access and grant them admin rights?

Right click > Run as administrator.

Will that work even if the user account isnt an admin?

It will be an "admin" account. UAC just stops things running as an admin by default because it's stupid

Just create the real admin account and then just change the name from administrator to your own and then delete your old account.

Type CMD in the start menu search bar, right click, run as admin and then type, net user administrator /active:yes

Sorted.

And the best thing about that aswell is no more corfirmination boxes you get from UAC but UAC is still running.
