Anyone know of a list that states intended territory for Windows Vista retail packs. Looking at Ultimate auctions, for example, Britian has 66R-00020 for pre-SP1.

Also would like to know if accademic, etc. versions have the same part number.

Had a friend buy a few windows versions from Ebay. Each one fell over. WIndows 2000 was fake, and I think it was XP pro also fake.

He learned his lesson and just got it from OCUK :p

Got my vista ultimate from the states, saved a fortune, Retail, all legit. :D made me a happy chappy.

What part number is on the box of a US version?

I probably won't risk eBay, but seeing how retail Ultimate can go for less than retail Home Premium it's mighty tempting.

Stay away from the temptress.

Go with OcUK. You do not take the risk that way.

SKU 66R-00002

X12-08297 is the other product code mentioned on it.

been discontinued now though, probably for the sp1 version.

But thats what i have got.

Hope thats of some use.

Some very nice savings to be had purchasing from the states.

Looking at This Week Only offers I'm not considering eBay now.

Trying to decided between Home Premium with £8ish extra for 64 bit media, or go full out for Ultimate.

After receiving a retail version from OcUK, I'm glad I paid the extra for a store sourced version.

The security tabs that auctions rave on above is an easy to replace sticky plastic label. The red grab on the top isn't a seal, but a grab hold to open the box.

Not seen any auctions mention the shrink wrap cover, but I wouldn't count that as guarantee of it never being opened.
