My Dads IE7 on a Vista laptop has suddenly started being extremely slow to open then run and browse.
I did some searching and ascertained that if I tried 'Run as Administrator' or turned off Protected Mode it is fine again.
This has only happened today and he did try to install some old software prior to the problem occuring. It failed to run properly and he uninstalled.
Any thoughts about this issue? The software did not directly use IE7 to run and has not left any obvious add-ons for IE7.
Why would running as admin or turning off protected mode work? I am not 100% clear what protected mode does either to be honest.
