Just realised Vista indexing isn't actually doing my full drives, rather parts of it (emails, offline files etc.).

If I turn it on for my whole C: drive, and my whole storage drive will it only index while I'm not there?

I've noticed when you're doing something it says "indexing has been slowed down due to activity", that's suggesting that it indexes even when you're there?

Craig.

Ive just had a read through the help section on Indexing, and it says that you shouldnt index your entire drive as it negates the point of the index-the fewer files that are indexed, the quicker the index can be searched. If you index the entirety of your C drive, it will give you results no quicker than if you search the C drive normally.

I see, thanks very much for that :)

Searching seems pretty fast anyway I guess, searched my whole drive(s) for a few files now and it doesn't take too long :)
