Hi Guys,
OK, bought a copy of Vista Home Premium for my Sony Vaio notebook. Runs like a dream, apart from the Memory Stick icon is missing in my computer. It just shows the unassociated windows icon.
I used to run XP on the laptop, and found a solution on the internet that involves modifying the Memory Stick device handler in the registry by pointing it at a file called snymsico.dll. Once rebooted, the laptop displays the Memory Stick icon.
What i cant understand is that the Vista registry structure surrounding the device handlers seems to be the same as XP and i have followed the same process, but for whatever reason will not display the Memory Stick icon.
My question is have any other Vaio users tried Vista yet, and if so did you get around this problem?
Not a massive issue, as the device works - but a little annoying all the same
Cheers
Rob
