Hi Folks

I am finally making the leap to install Vista Home Premium but I have a few questions - before anybody moans at me and says "search" I have done but could only find threads about UAC and enabling/disabling admin a/cs in vista

1. When you first install vista it creates a standard user a/c with some admin rights - is this correct?
2. After installing vista the next step is to install all my programs, drivers etc should I do this in pure admin mode or stay in standard user mode and should I leave UAC on or off (which will give less headaches)?
3. When installing updates from microsoft do I again have to log on as 100% admin or can I use my std user a/c?

I ask these questions as I have found many threads where folk have tried to install a driver and got an error saying you don't have admin rights log on as admin to perform this task

Hope folks can help - also is there a guide on the web that explains this as the only guides I found using google are basic install guides

1 - Yip that's correct
2 - Standard mode is fine for installing drivers. UAC is a matter of personal taste. Wait and see how much it annoys you.
3 - Updates can be done from a standard account.

Very little (if anything) has to be done from a full admin account. Any problems can usually be sorted by right-clicking a file>Run as Admin.

There's also a program called TweakUAC which allows you to keep UAC turned on (for various other protection reasons), but turns off the actual prompts.
