Hello all.

Trying to install vista on a new machine with a M2N-SLI Deluxe, 2GB Ram and 8800GT. I have a USB Logitec Mouse and standard keyboard attached.

Basically i go into the bios and tell it to boot from DVD drive, it boots from DVD fine and i enter language then product key fine, it does it's thing and then after the first reboot i leave it alone (as in dont click any key to boot from dvd again) but it just gives an error saying windows didnt load successfully and gives safe mode options, but cant go any further than this.

Is there a common problem that im missing here ?

Motherboard bios is at 1102 but i assume to get to 1320 i need a floppy disk but having read the site this update seems unrelated to vista ? I have aldo tried another DVD and both result in this problem.

I also attach this screen showing exactly where install gets to.

Thanks - p.s this post is also in windows section but im desperate to sort it tomorrow and have had no response :(

Mobo bios should not matter to Vista.

Try 1 stick of Memory incase an issue and a non USB KB/Mouse.

I had a customers PC that worked but could not take a new install of XP, I thought it was the XP CD or Optical Drive or even the HDD, ended up the PSU was dying, just could not handle the stress of installing the OS with all parts inc drives running full pelt.

Plugged in a spare PSU and it went 1st time.
