Hi Guys

Just got my copy of Vista today and having a little trouble installing it.

I have three hard drives installed in the following order.

20gig with Windows 98
250gig with Windows XP
250gig ready for vista

When I boot from the Visit DVD the installer loads but just sits there at the point where the language selector would normally display.

Any ideas?

Hi

now this may or may not be of any help but a similar thing happened to me before ... and the daftest thing solved it for me :o

i had for no real reason disconected my floppy drive .. and i couldnt get vista to get to the language page it would just sit there doing nothing then eventually reboot .. so by accident i reconnected the floppy cable and way and behold .. vista installed normally and at the point it previously hung it was accessing the floppy  .. fortunately i have an option in the BIOS of report no FDD to the OS which is now enabled as i totally removed the floppy from pc & on the last install Ultimate x64 OEM no such problems

as i say probably totally unrelated but who knows computers can be fickle things when MS is concerned

Think I've found what the problem is but I don't really know why it is.

The two drives that currently have 98 and XP on are both IDE drives. Since I upgraded my system I've plugged into the back of these hard drives IDE to SATA converters. Which I'm guessing that Vista is not liking as when I unplug the drives everything works.

Anyone had/having an experience like this?
