Hi,
i am having trouble installing vista on a new build, when it gets to the final part of the instillation it just crashes, i have tried everything from bios settings to different sticks of ram but still no joy, spec is below.

gigabyte ma78gm-s2h
2gig crucial ballistix
athlon 6000+

Yes i have tried both sticks separately but they are supposed to run at 2.2v i can only get them to 2.1v with this board i cant manually select what i want them to run at there is only them stupid +0.1 settings.

ok got a picture of where it crashes,

Before it crashes the dvd drive spins down and the keyboard and mouse switch off then come back on and then that is where it crashes.

OMG I tried to instal Vista on this very laptop lastnight ( Ultimate 32bit ) and I left it at that point for an hour as I was doing a mobo swap on my main rig

I rebooted the lap top thinking maybe its just halted on the desktop handover but i was wrong so I tried the repair option on the instal disc

Vista reported that there was a problem but could not fix it was the reply I had
So I went back to XP MCE

thinking about it I got a feeling that that is the "vista is going to test your system and score it" point
