Vista installation error

Got another Maxtor 500G SATA HD today , Decided Upgrade my XP to Vista64 (HTPC) but when installing keep getting the following error

any ideas how to fix ?

Has me stumped

trying to boot from grub has

Error:20 selected cylinder exceeds maximum supported by bios

Mobo is a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H

Solved by removing the HD and Formatted using Paragon Partition Manager 9.0 Professional Vista Compatible, on other pc.
Format and use the " install new OS option to create the correct mbr "
