Vista is shipping

at work last night (DHL)we had loads of boxes of vista being delivered to manufacturers/suppliers in Europe from Microsoft's plant in Ireland

Yes, it has gone RTM (Release to manufacturer) consumer copies arnt avaliable till January.

Does it come with new computers already though? My boss just bought a new Dell Dimension and swears black and blue that it's got Vista on it already...

I don't think so, he's probably just got a voucher for a free upgrade once it's available.

If its a Dell though then it would have Vista on it wouldn't it, as Vista has been released to manufacturer's, and Dell are manufacturers, or am i totally wrong. :confused:

January 31st - so still a good five weeks until release day.

The new ones will have a Vista ready sticker on them IIRC, but not Vista itself.
