Maybe this has been posted already, but Vista RTM'd at around 7.30 this evening. OEM's are pulling the code across now :)

RTS for volume customers is 1st December now, with the general public getting it on the 30th Jan. But if any OEM releases Vista between now and end Jan which is very likely, then all OEM's will break the embargo and ship. So I would not be surprised if Vista in fact shipped this month!!

Well a lot of people care actually. Those that bought G80's today for example and are waiting for DX10. Thought I would mention it.

Anyway, OEM's everwhere are downloading it as I type :) Should be an interesting few days ahead.

I don't think this is the thread for such an old argument :)

Maybe not, but if you go by the usual standard of MS's first releases, it's probably worth waiting for the first SP to come out.

At least we know it is going to ship ontime. That's something. And reponses to RC2 have been pretty decent. RTM code promises to be better.

I am not sure if MS have made an official announcement yet. I only posted it because I work in the industry and thought people might like to know it is coming out on time. :)

I have no idea. All I know is the RTM code OEM's got this evening have no PID's with them. Maybe they use the RC2 PID's but have been told the OS is only good for 30 days from install and then you need a reinstall. Maybe the situation will change soon and proper pid's get released.

it better, this is the reason my company has spent out on MSDN for the next year is so my technical team can have a real good long play with Vista before we decide whether to intergrate it any time soon!!

30 days would not be sufficient!
