Hello,
Appoligies if this has been covered already, but i couldnt find it with a search.

I have a OEM Vista 64 bit disk, i am going to buy it next month as i dont have a key. The question is if i install it now without the key, is it possible to buy a key online when the 30 day period expires without a reinstall or buying an OEM copy (as i dont need the media just the key).

Also will i have to reinstall if i buy an OEM version just for a key?

Hope that makes sense

Thanks

Late

You can't buy OEM keys online. Even if you could it'd be the same price as a normal OEM copy as your paying primarily for the licence not the media.

Ok so i will have to buy an OEM copy to get a license key, but does it mean i can install Vista now, and when my OEM copy comes just use the license key from that without reinstalling?

As long as it's the same version i.e Vista HP OEM 32 != Vista HP OEM 64

I was going to use an MSDN copy to install the 64 bit ultimate version now, then buy a Vista Ultimate 64bit OEM from Overclockers next month.

Will this work?

Nope, MSDN keys and media are different. You could do a repair install though with the new OEM Vista disc
