Just formatted and reinstalled Vista,

I'm The only User (Guest Account is off).

and except for the hidden administrator account, anyway...

when vista boots to the login screen it used to just have my name ready for me to login, for some reason it now has my username and another called "Other User".

could anybody shed some light on this and better still, tell me how to get rid of it so it behaves as before. - thanks

tried user acount account control off? or go to cmd.exe type net user administrator :/active: no

or something along those lines, or go to start-run-msconfig and got to boot and disable the log-in screen, and then restart and enable it again.

PS : Make sure you take your account off in account control first.

Thanks for the help,

yeah UAC is off. I just tried the above and still has a second user called "other user" at startup; BAH!

:)
