Just finished installing Vista Home Premium 64-bit, done all the drivers and updates and thought great all done. I've just tried to open Media Player from Start>All Programs and all the shortcuts have vanished. All I'm left with is the programs/ drivers that I have installed.

I know I can go through manually and re-add them.. but it's going to take a while.

Any ideas?

any idea how they went?

look in the folder C:\Users\Default (can't quite remember the name of it)\Start Menu\Programs

copy them from there to your own account

-also, try enabling hidden files, see if that brings them back

Humm..tried enabling hidden files.. no luck. Can't find a folder in the users\default\... etc with anything.

This is wierd!

Almost thinking of doing in a re-install.. but don't really want to.

Nope got no programs at all other than drivers. I eventually just copied the shortcuts to the programs back into the right folder but it was a pain to have to do it. I have no idea what would have caused it.
