Everytime i start vista after its finished loading everything it bumps the brightness up which i dont like as it makes blacks kinda light great on sites. So far the only way i can fix it is going to CCC controls for colour and clickon "reactive ati colour controls" And it fixes it.

Any way to stop vista doing this each time its finished loading after bootup. Its driving me mad.

In the color section in CCC scroll to the bottom & make sure the Microsoft MCE Black and white levels is ticked.

That may help.

It is. But vista is doing somit to change brightness after booting up and loading all its crap. How to stop this so i dont have to keep going to CCC setting it to "reactivate ati colour controls" etc.

Mine does it as well and thats a 8800GTX. Its done it on three different driver revisions. I had a monitor driver, turned the media viewer yellow. Deleted it, made no difference to the brightness bug. Looks like the gamma setting is changing.

Hmm after re-reading your previous post seems you were asking about monitor driver not gfx card driver, tho you cant blame me for getting confused due to you using the words "display driver" which most of the time would mean gfx card driver.

Windows is using a generic display driver since my hansol 930D doesnt have vista drivers.

Seeing as you getting all funny, just for the hell of it i would have said gfx card driver if was talking about it.
The display is for viewing looking at,billboard, shop window arraignment, making a display of your self in public, your bed room is most likely quite a display! [quickly moving on] monitor or readout device & in this context could have only meant monitor.
Don`t ask me to come over & look at your new computer display when upon arrival to be greeted with a boxed gfxcard.
:D

Just dont use the ati thing untill they fix it, just turn down the brightness on the monitor and leave colours on default, instead of using ati's colour correction/controlls. Only thing I can think off...

Ummm, if asked for the display driver which one to pick?

This one

The gfxcard is a display adapter.
Display is a visual element requiring light production or & light refraction, reflection.
Color management pacifically for your monitor is from the monitor driver if its comes with one.
Monitor is a name given to a type of display or a use of a display.
