Ok, I have installed Vista Business and Ultimate onto 2 of my PCs for testing.

They have been there for a couple of weeks now, and I am now ready to accept that I really do think that Vista is crap, and so I have reinstalled XP back.

Now, what has happened is that on one PC, I have now got one of the HDs telling me taht the disk is BAD, and this is a 400MB E: Drive and has about 130MB on it, the other one gave me some issues in that it kept failing to boot up properly from the HD when Iwas installing XP back... Again, PM8 assumes this disk is also knackered too, but under Windows, it has lefta blank space of about 8GB at the beginning of the drive and the C: partition is way up along the disk and I cannot re-shrink it back down to the beginning because of it.

The other day, I noticed that my 36GB Raptor has a borked Partition table that I cannot recover from, and the last time I used that drive was on a Vista PC, so is it Vista that has killed it or not???

Now, in a sick twisted experiment I have had another go. I opened up a brand new 80GB IDE Drive, I made a 20GB to put Vista onto, then icne Vista was installed, I created another Partiion, filling up the rest of the disk.

I then wiped the disk and reinstalled XP and there it went again, XPhas gone onto the disk seemingly ok, but Partition Magic wont have any of it.

It seems to me, that every time I try to use a Hard Disk with Vista, if Vista itself has anythign to do with the creation or the resizing of any given partition, then that drive will become BAD when later used under XP.

Is there any specific tool that anyone can suggest that will fix this for me?

I am now at the end of my tether with Vista and it seems that I cant even go back to XP properly without junking my drives.
