its a sony vaio laptop.
6 of the conflicts are a 6T04 adaptor, and then pretty much anything to do with networking or connectivity has a conflict. the wireless, lan, bluetooth, miniports etc.

A total of 17 conflicts.

If i try and uninstall one nothing happens, drive conflict remains.

Any ideas?

Wrong drivers by the sound of it. Tried downloading the latest ones and installing them?

Did it come with Vista preinstalled? If so it may be worth factory resetting it and starting again.

no everything was working fine then just happened suddenly. It wasn't from a new install.
I've tried updating the drivers to no effect.

I did a virus and malware scan and found quite a few things, but removing them didn't solve the problem. Its possible they're the cause for Vista messing up, but whats the solution?
apart from a factory reset, which i'm leaving as a last resort

If you've had virus's / malware then I would factory reset it mate.

It's too risky to try and resolve whilst missing a trojan or such like and then giving remote access to your PC.

You could try making a boot cd on another PC with a virus checker on it (check out Hirens boot cd) and then leave your PC off and start it from CD and see if that gets it.

The best and safest way though is just to factory reset it. I'd be tempted not to back anything up unless its absolutely essential (as the files could be infected).

Factory reset your PC, Windows Firewall / Antivirus on there as soon as possible - don't download anything before factory resetting as it could be infected. Then once the above has been done if you have backed anything up virus scan it before restoring and then restore it.

Viruss / etc. are a nightmare to get rid of once you have them.
