Vista Media Centre - Cannot get TV Guide to work

Hi, iv tried getting the TV guide to work in Vista media centre but when i try to view the guide it just says no data found for all channels, iv been through the download and update process a few times now. I can view channels fine so the card is working.

I have a Happaulage (Sp?) dual tuner card, do i need to install the epg service in order to it to work or have microsoft got their own way of doing it?

When you go through the setup, did you tick the box to agree to the license.
It should ask for your post code, download the latest guide, then scan for available channels. When it's finished you should have the guide for most them.

Yep, done all that, but after it downloaded and supposedly updated the guide, i went on there to check and for every channel it just said "No data available".

What area are you scanning? try choosing a different zone.

On mine, i can scan about 5 or 6 different zones, not all of them have all the channels and the guides.

Can you actually watch the channels? As in, is the signal strong enough to view them properly?

I can watch the channels fine, just no guides to go with them, going to have a proper look tomorrow, didnt get a chance tonight.

Sometimes doesn't add guide data to channels after a channel scan. Have you tried doing this manually?

I've managed to set this up with no problems on my main pc. Ive just tried setting up tv on my media centre, i can download the guide no problems, scanned and found 72 stations but when i get to the 'I agree' to the guide bit and press next, it doesnt go on to a new page but this white text box and large white arrow appears on the screen over the top of the agree page :confused:

I thought it may be a a box to enter my post code into but when i do so and click next, the box and arrow just get brighter and brighter

Is it possible to reinstall VMC? I tried a sfc /scannow command to see if there were any problems with vista but it didnt find anything. I really cant be bothered to reinstall Vista again, it all works fine apart from this.

Any ideas?
