Just got a couple of questions if anyone can answer them.

Firstly, is there an option to turn on/off subtitles when watching an avi file? It would have been handy if they had a button on the ms remote for it.

Secondly, all my mp3's are tagged and have the cover art. However the art is not showing up in media centre. Do I have to enable an option to show it's there?

Thanks

I can answer the first question, it depends on the avi file. If the subtitles are hardcoded I'm not sure you can get rid of them. If there is an .srt file in the same folder as the avi, just rename the .srt.

If you go into windows media player you can drag and drop the album art to create the association, then it will show up in media center. I'm not sure how you do it automatically.

It will usually read the art out of the tag, but it needs the art in a 'folder.jpg' file in the album folder to show it in the list, methinks.

That explains it then, some of the covers are 'folder.jpg' whilst some are 'cover.jpg'. Looks like I'll have to do some renaming!

I have a .MKV that has loads of different subtitle languages in it and I can choose which ones (or none) to show when I watch it in Media Player Classic. None is default.

However when I watch it in WMP or Media Centre, the english Subtitles are on by default and I can't see any way to turn them off, in WMP the Lyrics, Captions, Subtitles option is set to OFF, but they're there.

I'm now in the process of renaming my jpg to 'folder.jpg'. However, every now and again I get the following error message:

"Cannot rename cover: a file with the name you specified already exists. Specify a different file name".

There's no other jpg file in the folder though and I've looked with the show hidden files option as well. Any ideas how to get around this?
