Hi All,

just got this all setup and working, however I have a few questions.

1 - the HTPC keeps prompting me to ask for permission to change the channel for recording... is there any way to make it just auto to yes and always record?

2 - the sky box needs a pin code for 12/15/18 films before the watershed... is there anyway to make it not need one?

Many Thanks

Gareth

aha, managed to do part two of my post.... Services, Pin control, and then press the red button and it greys it all out... job done ! now just to stop media centre asking !

Hey can you post how you did it?

I have a vista mce pc next to a telewest box here

sid

Lol no

I meant the full setup of how you connected sky to the vista mce pc + hardware and software configs

oh, sorry ! lol

well, Ive used a tv card with a composite input, then as the sky box has two scart outputs, ive got the main RGB one going into the pc.

Most important thing here is to ensure that you order the microsoft remote, once you've got that its happy days... you cant go wrong when setting it up, its super easy :)

You can't stop it! sorry but its not possible.

you are indeed correct. even though I disabled it in system it still did it.

I'm gonna give sky a call and see if there is a plan to ever remove this.

update - spoken to sky who said lots of people have complained about this recently, and that they are advising everyone to e-mail in and request a way around it. Apparently its being looking into, but the more weight off us customers the better !

so how does vista change the channels on the sky box?

What tv card you using?

Im using a old PVR 1300 card and using the svid outout from sky through this, but there is a annoying 2 second delay between pressing a button and a response by the time its got to the computer

I work for sky mate, no matter how many emails you send it it will never stop.

The only way sky will stop asking for a pin number if they stop 12 - 15 - 18 rated films before the watershed, like it used to be.

The whole movie and asking for a pin was enforced by Ofcom.

Sorry for the bad news mate:(

You can set autoview on the sky box, aslong as its a standard box. I asume he means the times he sets the pc up to record.
