Vista Media Player Crashes after upgrade!

Hey guys,
Having a few problems with Vista and a bit on XP after my CPU upgrade! All of a sudden anything played on both WMP and Zune software seems to crash after a few seconds of play

It's really really annoying and it seems to be due to the upgrade! I trawled through google but wasnt too sure if I was on the right lines so does anyone have a solution?

Its to do with DRM, not sure how the fix affects any drm files you may have but this is how I sorted it on vista. Firstly turn on show hidden files and folders and untick hide protected operating system files.

Then go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows

You should see a hidden folder called DRM. I just emptied the whole folder and everything worked fine. But I'm not sure how that would effect any DRM files you have

Changing the cpu causes it to go funky and crash for some reason, bit of a design flaw.

Looked in the registry too, deleted the DRM stuff there and restarted and seems to have fixed things!

Strange and defo a design flaw!
