In windows vista, when switching on the animation to light up the lights when traffic flows, it does not truely reflect the real traffic flowing. Iv noticed that it randomly lights up when it wants to, as its not really precise on network data flow. In XP the network icons are much more precise and truley reflect the network data. Anyone else noticed this? I wonder if there is a fix to get this right.

There is a lot of background traffic going on a network that has nothing to do with physical file transfers, like broadcasts etc polling of webpages, torrents (even if they arent uploading or downloadin).

Especially if you have a large network there will be a constant stream of data going to your nic.

So my guess is that the Vista one is actually a more true picture on whats flowing through your computer.
