vista network speed?

Sorry for all the threads today.
trying to transfer a lot 50GB across a network. Vista was downloading at 30kbs just installed all windows updates and it's gone upto 1.5mb. Is there any settings or configurations that speeds it up any more. I'm sure there was a few threads on this. but "vista, network, speed" brings up hundreds of threads.

Vista and Network transfers are mutually exclusive. SP1 fixes most of the problems however.

I've noticed the network drivers can have a huge change on speeds. One of my rigs uses nvidia drivers the other uses updated vista ones (unistalling shortly) and there is a considerable difference. Nvida hits 30MB/s, vista drivers hit about 6MB/s over the same wire so to speak when talking to each other.
