vista networking to XP

Not sure if this is the place but here goes, laptop-Vista Ultimate, PC1-XP Pro SP3, PC2-XP Pro SP3,
Problem:- PC1 sees PC2 and reads all OK but accsess denied to view laptop
Same on PC2 but laptop can read all PC's, how can I get the PC;s to read the laptop?
It says it is shared in the properties of the laptop so shuld share ok, disabled anti virus and firewall no diff, it must be in the permssions? or simaler setting it sets up dead easy in XP why change it in Vista as it has me beat at the moment Cheers for any help will carry on and see if I can sort be been at it for a while now with no joy

Hi i had the same problem i bought a new laptop with vista and it couldnt talk to my other xp based desktops i searched the microsoft knowledgebase and found a small download for this network problem and cured it sorry cant remember name of file but i suppose search for (vista network problems ) may find it.. good luck george.

yeah there is a microsoft patch as the vista machine cant see the xp machine or is it the other way round,
