Can anyone tell me if its possible to get vista to report the correct CPU speed plz.
Have a Q6000 at 3.4ghz (400 x 8) using vista ultimate 64bit, yet it's showing at 3.6ghz within windows (showing correct speed in everest, cpu-z etc). I have also tried to overclock my sisters E6600 in Vista Ultmate32 and that is showing the overclock in CPU-Z etc and in bios/boot up yet showing the standard speed in Vista. (cpu is not throttling back either)

Any help will be apreciated greatly as it's sending my OCD crazy:)

Hi and welcome :)

You can't get Vista to show the correct speed if you change the default CPU multiplier.

Not sure about your sisters problem. But always go by what CPU-Z says.

Thx for the fast reply Cob.
Damn vista it is sending my OCD into overdrive lol, i will just have to get 400 x 9 then :).
Had no idea either with my sisters as kept the multipler the same yet shows no diffrence in vista when i increase the FSB.

@Moomoo I wish Vista Could use my math level, i would have a wonderfull quad at 9Ghz :)
