I seem to be having a small problem with a Dell Inspiron 1525 running Vista.
When ever you tell the computer to shut down it just restarts, it takes a few trys to actually get it to shut down.

Has anyone heard of this problem before?

Thanks!

As Harry said - sounds like you've not changed the default setting. The power button in Vista can be set to sleep, hybrid sleep, hibernate, power off... Just check the power management settings (click advanced and scroll down the list).

I had a similar problem after installing SP1. If you have recently installed SP1 then while its loading keep tapping F8 to get up the Windows load menu, go into safe mode, then shut down from there. Start up and try it normally.

If this is not an affect of a recent SP1 install, I have no idea :D
