Maybe not as good as the XP ones?
I just relieved myself of Vista, thankfully and have earned myself an extra 20FPS!!, average, on my L4D benchmark.

I had the latest Vista drivers and now the latest XP drivers. I thought it might be DX10 related but L4D is DX9...

IQ appears to be better on XP too

101 fps before, over 120 fps after. In game FPS is substantially higher, hitting high 2s in some places now.

Vista feels slower all round for me, not just games, even desktop is fractionally more sluggish than XP. Roll on Windows 7 (unless it's another Vista :D)

I much prefer Vista TBH, as long as my min fps is OK I don't care about the top end, I vsync everything anyway so anything over 60FPS is wasted. Min fps is far more important.

I realised the only thing I liked about vista was the pretty Windows+Tab thingy... which I never use because my mind always defaults to Alt+Tab.

I agree with HeX here. I stopped caring about absolute FPS a long time ago, and simply switch on everything I want in a game. If its running slow, then time to upgrade, generally.

Atm, my 8800GS is fine for my 1440x900 resolution.

Spot on bud. I'm sure the OP feels the extra 20fps in comparison to his previous :P

+1 Hex and I agree with you Montegue :p

Something is horribly wrong with you Q6600's speed  ;)

When you've got a GTX280 dipping into RED and YELLOW FPS ranges you kinda start thinking *WTF*
I realised something was up with Vista when the latest driver versions were mismatched for XP/Vista. I'm sure it's fine for the majority but when I pay for a 280, I expect nothing but stellar performance and Vista was very much a hindrance to that end.

this might not be specifically vista related! I have company of heroes running with 175.19 drivers coz when i install newer drivers, it cuts the performance for some reason, down from 117 fps to around 90-95 (its high coz its on a small map i use to test my fps!)

happens noticably with crysis too when looking thru scopes. Sounds crazy i know, but i cant argue with whats infront of me.

btw i always turn off physix & make sure my settings were always the same as before!
