I know this has probably been covered in the other umpteen Vista licence hoo-hahh threads but here goes anyway.
I bought Vista 64bit OEM and I'm about to rebuild the PC with a dual boot setup. I.e. a legit copy of XP 32bit Home upgrade (using win98se to licence it) to be installed first, followed by the install of Vista OEM. (Side question, is this going to work or will the OEMness of Vista complain about the XP being on there?) The thing is I want to install everything with my existing 8800gtx in place with a view to upgrading this when all prices of new cards settle down and it is clear which brand to buy into. Hence will my OEM copy of Vista be broken by changing the graphics card in the nearish future. I don't mind being slightly non-legit licence-wise if I have to ring up MS up or something to get it activated or whatever, I just want to know if it will physically stop me using Vista altogether if I change the card with no way of ressurecting Vista. If it does then I can get by with just XP until I decide what gcard to upgrade to. The reason I got an OEM copy was I wanted to upgrade my pc hardware enough to last me till the next proper version of Windows comes, at which point I would simply bin OEM vista, but in the meantime I can play DX10 games.
