Vista OEM...?

Ok, call me a cheapskate, but I am thinking of getting the OEM version of Vista Home Premium from OcUK.
As far as I am aware, the only catch is that it is stuck to a single PC (Which is OK 'cos I only have one PC!).
Are there any other caveats I should consider first...?

Also, while I am posting (and rather than going to another topic to do it...), my Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ is running at 2000Mhz, but I have seen a couple of times in the system (but I can't remember where) that it is "running at 2000mhz, max speed 3000mhz". Any ideas?

Oh, what the hell, here's another...When 1st installing the board/chip, I went into the BIOS and enable qfan, rebooted, it beeped ("I'm OK!"), but then the fan (on the heatsink!) stopped. I rebooted and set BIOS defaults (before it stopped again!), and it was fine. Tried to enable qfan again and the same thing happened. Any ideas...?

Shucks, while I'm here...
This new board (Asus M2N-E) has a copper-looking thing running accross it (something about a 'heat pipe'). Am I supposed to put something on it or what...?
I am serious here guys, I really don't know!

Ok, that's it!
ANY help with ANY of the above would (again) be grately appreciated.

@rculver9056.

Welcome to the forum.
To save from nasty posts such as above, try getting used to the forum groups, and use the search.

Vista OEM will be fine for you, plenty of users on here have bought the same version from OCuk.

As for your fan stopping, that is what qfan does, it reduces the speed of the cpu when its power is not needed and thus reduces the voltage, and therefore can sometime turn of the fan, the whole point being, your system runs quiet most of the time, unless your doing any cpu intensive work, in which case the voltage goes back up, your cpu speed hits max and the fan powers back on :)

Ignore the void think he got out of bed on the wrong side. :)

The copper pipe is just to remove the heat from your north/south bridge, just a silent version of the fans most motherboards use. Dont put anything on it :eek:
