Hi guys, im buying a new computer. i have the OEM version of home premium, Will microsoft let me register again?

Thanks

Jay !

The OEM version of any Microsoft software is tied to the original motherboard it was first installed on. With the exception of some Office Software (i.e. Home Student Edition, which allows 3 computers IIRC).

You will need a new OEM licence for your new machine OR a retail licence.

The retail licence is more expensive, but can be activated on any motherboard. But, only one computer at any one time.

So you can install Office2007 Home/Student on 3 separate PC's then???... is that true or just one of them urban legends???...

If its true.. I have 3 PC's and a spanking new copy of Office2007 H/S coming in the post soon!!! :)

Ooo I've bought a Retail licensed version... I have My Main PC and two Laptops (well I will have 2 Laptops when my new one comes on Monday!!)...

Ec-chelentay!!... :D
