Vista opening applications

Hi sorry if this is a lot of a noob question but without me knowing what i have done the different windows are opening with a soft start rather than the page just opening , how do i revert back to the ols fashioned way

Control Panel -> Performance Information and Tools -> Adjust Visual Effects (Left hand side) -> Animate Windows when....
