aside legal stuff, don't u have a copy of XP on your Old/Current system? can;t you just install that. Long as the 2 pc dun come on at the same time and both pinging MS then I think your copy will remain valid. (ppl will tell me off now)

pc-guy said:You need a decent 3D card like baseline at something of X1600 or what. Otherwise your basic windows won't even run smoothly cos the fact that its so graphically demanding. (which i think it's even a bigger con) The more windows u open the more graphical power u got to supply, i think thats a correct correlation, correct me if i am wrong.
Anyway I won't be upgrading Vista AT ALL or until Software runs out of support for it ^^

... as for playing games that isn't vista fault, it's the drivers fault. ATI as got the drivers now for vista that the games will run as fast as xp runs them..
Ice On Fire said:Erm, I am running a X800XT 256MB card along with 1Gb Ram and AMD A64 3400+ CPU - yet Vista plays games a lot slower then my XP Professional was. Running the 7.2 drivers?
Ice On Fire said:No I am not saying you're wrong or anything. I am just trying to see if there is a problem with my system, that's all.
Is there any reason why my proformance would be lower? running a SATA raid setup on a nforce 3 150 as well. 2x160 = 298Gb. Would that cause it do you think?
(although I am putting a new fence up so might not get a chance to do much apart from check the parts!)
)gareth170 said:i don't think its your raid setup but u could try installing vista on a single sata drive... sometimes when using a ati graphic card on a nforce motherboard u will get problems.. i had a nforce 4 motherboard with a ati card before but i had a lot of problems with it. so i bought a ati motherboard then ive had no problems...
