:D Hi all, at the moment i have windows xp pro 32 bit, i want to upgrade to the 64 bit operating system to get the full potential of of my phenom cpu and ram etc. My question is, xp 64 bit or vista home premium 64 bit?. My other question is, do i need the upgrade/oem or full version, thx all regards:D.
 
I'd say Vista x64 - it's really a lot snappier than 32bit XP (I dual boot for certain things). I think any hardware manufacturers will be more likely to expend effort creating 64bit drivers for Vista as well.
 
GO for Vista Home Premium 64bit OEM/RETAIL if you can afford it, been on it nearly 2 months had no problem with drivers, etc. Won’t be going back to XP.
 
I'd stick with xp I see no reason to get vista even to this day.
If you want better looks try msstyles themes for xp such as lunar element 5.
 
If you want Media Centre then go for Vista Home Premium. If you want remote desktop go for Vista Business (doesn't come with Media Centre).

However, saying that I have heard of ways to get remote desktop onto Vista Home Premium, must go searching for that.
 
I'd definitely recommend Vista Home Premium x64 (OEM If you don't plan on upgrading your motherboard very often)

I've been using it for nearly 2 months now and would never go back to xp :D
