Guys, I've just returned froma work trip and can't remember my password windows Vista password. I've had a hunt about on the forums, but can't find anything.

What can I do to get my password back?

thanks

Greg

forgot to mention that I'm the only user on the computer. The account I use *is* the administrators account, and if I remember correctly, I've disabled all the other accounts!

I think I'm stuffed basically! :S

Ah well, I'll just have to reinstall windows! :(

No. Use the password recovery tool listed above.
And are you actually logging in as the user named Administrator?

I am, I'm using 'Administrator'

I've just downloaded the Slax/Live CD from the other thread and tried it on this work pc thats running vista too.

Bit of a problem though, it comes up with all the users, but unfortaionatly it says about using NT hashes, but when i try to select them/highlight them and click ok nothing comes up, i don't know what i'm doing wrong.

should it work on vista?

Thankfully vista is very unsecure, offering no encryption for users data whatsoever. So you can just log on as an adminstrator and change the user permissions for the folder containing all your data. If you can't log on as admin on your pc you can put the hdd in another pc.

thanks guys

all sorted now, used the boot disk option from that thread that someone pointed out

thank you so much guys
