No - basically you asked for "a solution" as you've got college work to do.
Pen Drives as a rule work absolutely fine under Vista - I've tested no less than about four brands (PNY, Crucial, Dabs Value, Corsair) whilst testing for Ready Boost compatability and each of them has simply worked as it did under WinXP.
If you have a U3 pen drive then that is the issue. A U3 pen drive only loads the U3 CD emulator and the data partition will not mount and keeps asking for a driver in Vista.
Two solutions if you have a U3 pen drive, get rid of the U3 stuff and wait for a U3 fix or get a branded pen drive without the software.
