Hi Folks

Can someone clarify what the option "remove from list" does.

This is seen when you open an item that is listed under the "performance issues" section under advanced tools?

Cheers.

My impression (fairly certain but not 100%) is that it simply stops telling you about that particular program delaying shutdown - ie. it "removes it from the list" of troublesome programs. (Obviously useful if you don't care about it and the message is annoying you). There isn't anything else I can think of that it could do.

Are you actually having a problem with shutdown times or are you just looking for awkward messages?

Seeing as that event was 11/09 I dont think you have to worry! Check the dates on the problems and if they are current, then you may have to investigate. Mine has always said about performance issues right from my first install with AMD 4200x2 to my C2D this aspect is safe to remove, as is your "paint.net" one. I guess dont use that website or software whatever it was at the time, any more.

you tried to shutdown when the program was still open, and it was being asked to close, then the program was trying to ask you "do you want to save this picture or exit"

Hey that performance logger in Vista is actually amazing - it logs boot times, shutdown times and reasons why things took too long to load.

Nice way to spot application trends etc.

Cheers

I am just mugging up on a few vista bits before I take the TS Exam.
