vista problems

Been ill, and bored, the last few days so decided to install vista ultimate 64 on my deskop today, still dual booting with XP though. Everything is fine except that neither of the wireless cards that I have lying around(both Belkin) will work with it. One of the cards works (or rather doesn't) through a PCMIA adapter. Can I just replace the card itself with a vista certified one? Also going to post this in networking as well.

I removed your post in the Windows forum - please don't crosspost.

If you need to use a PCMCIA adapter, I'd have expected it would need to be supported in Vista as well (you might not: I've only ever used PCMCIA on a laptop and it came with drivers already there. YMMV.) - you'd probably be easier looking for a PCI or USB adapter.

I wouldnt spend money just yet, vista seems to reach critical irritation point after about 3 - 4 days. If you can still bear it after that time get a vista certified card then.

Think that your probably right. Seems pretty so far but thats about it. Nice that all of the driver problems that I have when buying a new piece of wireless kit is even worse when changing operating systems. Annoying thing is that I've been buying Belkin kit recently because I was struggling with Netgear stuff so much under XP. Oh well.
