Vista question

you still need the pagefile with vista yea. it is not recommended to turn it off as some programs require it on.
even if you did have say 8gb of ram.

Running without a decent size page file does not increase performance, contrary to popular belief. Not that you can actually disable a pagefile totally anyway.

The only slight performance increase you would have is if you either had a partition on the same HDD or a seperate HDD and set the pagefile to take it from there.

Thx for reply guys. I have my pagefile set to a seperate HDD already. What size do you guys recommend with say 2Gb of Ram I currenly have set at 200mb.

Just let the system assign the correct amount. You wont notice any difference in performance if you manually set it.

The best idea is to let windows manage it, but if you want to set it static, you want at least 2.5GB for the pagefile.
