How do I run my games in DX9 mode?

I'm getting uneven performance, and I want to see if Dx10 is causing it, but I can't seem to find any options to force it anywhere.

Thanks.

dx9 games will run in dx9. simple as. for (the very few) games that have the dx10 options (crysis for example), use the right click menu in the games explorer.

Vista Games Explorer gives you the option to run the game in DX9 or DX10 if you right click the icon. If it's not there you can create a shortcut and add " -DX9" in the target box.

example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe" -DX9

I don't see an option for that. The game in question is UT3.

i know this is true because i've had dx9 games that need newer versions of the dx9 runtimes that vista ships with to run properly. i didn't realise ut3 could run in dx10.
