Having had vista installed for around 8 months now and a lack of genral file maintenance (my bad!) I want to carry out a Fresh install on a new HDD I am about to purchase to speed things back up again.

As vista has been around a while now, was just wondering if anyone had any advice on ANYTHING i can do to speed up vista like not installing certian things that rarely get used, or installing things, hotfixes etc that improve things. The computer is mainly used for gaming if that means anything at all.

Thanks

Once you have Vista set up exactly as you like it, activate, then make a backup. This saves having to phone Microsoft in the future when you've used up the allotted activations.

Its not a problem activating again after the set amount of times, just a PITA.
