I reinstalled Vista 32bit a couple of months ago and ever since my PC doesn't go into standby. All that happens is the mouse, keyboard and monitor turn off. Lights, Hard drives and fans stay on. To wake the PC up I then need to turn it off and back on again.

The only thing that has changed is that I now use RAID (0) on the Nforce4 chipset.

Does anyone have any ideas how to make it work? Google has failed me. :(

Using Vista 32bit
Opteron 170 @ 2.5GHz
Asus A8N-SLI
7800GT
2x 250GB HDD RAID 0 with OS on
1x 250GB backup
2GB RAM

Thanks.

It is set as S1 and S3 with the option of them individually. As said it worked in the previous install where the only hardware change was the addition of 2 HDD that I put in nvraid RAID0.

I would really like a solution to this. The only thing I have found so far is the Nvidia sleep problem but I have a newer ddriver revision number for my GPU...

Have had same same problem for quite a while but not found a solution; also found that if I leave media player on and its not doing anything whilst pc has been left alone for sometime that it sometimes crashes.

Have you had a look in the power options? In adavnced settings there a multimedia options - set it so that when sharing media the computer can sleep - that solved it for me.

Every time I reinstall Vista hibernation and sleep won't work properly for me. I just let it update itself and then it works fine.

This didn't work. Although though there was HDD activity for 5 mins before I reset the PC.
