Hey all. Just got myself Vista a few days ago, and just ordered myself a new hard drive about 10 mins ago :D

I have installed Vista on my current hard drive, but im wanting to have it on the new one to make it faster when it arrives.. but the problem is, i have OEM vista home premium, and as far as im aware the PK can only be used once..

is this going to be a problem with regards to activation? Alls im changing is the HDD, mobo will be the same, as will GPU and CPU.

I have looked for info on this but most searches return info on dual booting which isnt useful for my situation. Thanks in advance.

Hello Greenboi, if you will be reinstalling Windows Vista regardless if it's on the same hard drive or not, you will have to activate it either via the online process or if it fails you will have to ring Microsoft up. Tell them the situation and they will be happy to re-activate your copy of Windows Vista for you. :)

Hello Greenboi, If this will be your second time activating Windows Vista then you should have no problems activating Windows Vista via the online process. However, if it does fail, just ring Microsoft up and they will happily re-activate your copy of Windows Vista for you.

Their really isn't a set answer for the activation process I am afraid. Don't worry to much though, their won't be any problems getting your copy of Windows Vista activated. It dosne't take long weather you do it online or by the phone. :)
