Vista resolution problem

Hello all. I've just installed a security update for Vista 64bit and upon restarting it appears that the resolution has been changed from the 1152X864 that I was using. This is a problem for me, I don't own a traditional monitor, I'm running through my LCD TV using a DVI to VGA cable. My TV only supports certain resolutions and whatever resolution booted up last isn't one of them so I'm simply getting a message telling me that mode isn't supported, and just a black screen, no Windows, no nothing. :(

I've just started up in safe mode and it's not giving me the options I want. Does anybody know a work-around for this? It's probably something really easy but being a Mac user I haven't got a clue. :(

What I want to do is boot up in 1152X864, is there any way to set this before Windows has booted?

Cheers in advance.

Set the Vista to a lower resolution that the TV does support. Then in Vista, set a custom resolution of your choice and make Vista use that. You 'may' need a monitor attached to see what your doing at first.

That's my problem, I don't have a monitor to use when it boots up in the unsupported resolution. So I can't see what I'm doing. Is there a change I can make in safe mode that will stay when I boot up normally?

EDIT: Fixed. Borrowed a monitor from next door. Hopefully no more updates will set the resolution higher than my TV can support.
