Vista & SATA?

The only reason I still have a floppy, is because I have never been able to install SATA drivers without the need for a Floppy disk, using XP.
Does Vista have generic SATA drivers and would recognise the HDD's off the bat?

you should be able to use other media, like cd or pen drive. Almost %100 sure this is the case

Vista didn't require any additional software to recognise my sata drives.

I think it's got a lot of sata drivers pre-installed, it picked up my sata hard drive when I installed the beta, although I had to install raid drivers seperatly as it didn't pick up my 2 drives in raid 0

Yup, unlike the XP nightmare you find when you buy that first SATA drive, Vista knows all about your drive and will install easy as.

I just wish nVidia would get some piggin' nForce4 RAID drivers done. My system is not running at its full potential without them!

Does it recognise RAID configs out of the box as well as standard SATA setups?

Only Intel chipsets (ICHR) I would surmise.
